Ticket to Ride: Cost of Development
A downloadable Expansion
Description
Ticket to Ride was released in early 2004, and it is widely considered a classic board game. The game is traditionally peaceful, with the simple goal of reaching the highest point total through travel on the railways across America. This print-and-play expansion is meant to take the player further back in time to before the railways were fully finished as they are in the original game.
Original Gameplay
The original Ticket to Ride consisted of simple gameplay where one would build travel routes from one city to another, attempting to travel the farthest of all the players, while attempting to connect specific cities in your route to gain bonus points.
Expansion Gameplay
Rather than traveling along the existing railroad, Ticket to Ride: Cost of Development has you building the rails yourself, which includes keeping in mind the lives of the builders, which culminated in hundreds of thousands of deaths for chinese immigrants in America. This game will also require you to terraform, destroying mountains and forestry that has since been an otherwise undisturbed ecosystem for plenty of wildlife to call home.
